However who wants to experience the Stelvio road and is not so trained can do this with an E-bike perhaps.

The Stelvio National Park in South Tyrol is very popular with mountain bikers, cross-country and enduro bikers. For years, the Stilfserjoch has been known for its military trails, which make all mountain bike hearts beat faster. Whether Goldseetrail, Piz Umbrail or Tibet Trail, with Franzenshöhe as a starting point, mountain bikers start their day on the Stelvio with ease!

A special day is the National Park  launched motor free day on the Stelvio Pass. Every year the queen of the Alpine roads is only open to cyclists on this day.

For many athletes, this day is a must to cycle up the Stelvio Pass.

is held every year by the end of August or beginning of September.

the classic - a little bit different -

 

Departing from Franzenshöhe, take the 21 turns until you reach the top of the passport, then ride down approximately 3km to the Swiss border, where you reach Santa Maria by way of umbrail pass, and then ride on through Taufers in the direction of Glurns. From here, continue through transformer and back to Franzenshöhe.

Given the relatively low gradient, the climb is not too difficult, though because of the high-altitude air, it will demand a certain degree of fitness.
